BLACK HISTORY, STATES, AND OTHER STUFF!!!!

Hi, I'm Aria. We're learning about black history like Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King Jr. What I learned about Harriet Tubman is that she was very brave and she started working as a slave when she was three!  When she became a teenager she decided to run away on the UNDERGROUND RAILROAD! After she escaped she helped some of  her family members escape even though it would be VERY, VERY, VERY dangerous she helped them. Isn't that amazing??? Then after that she helped over 300 other slaves escape to freedom. Isn't that amazing???
Now I want to tell you a little bit about Martin Luther King Jr. As a kid he did not get to go to many places because he was blacked skinned and there was a law that white people and black people had to be separated. White people were treated better than black people. Like the black people weren't slaves but they were just not treated fairly. Black people couldn't go to schools, churches, stores, and  all sorts of things  because there were a lot of  signs that said white only. That meant that only white people could go there and those signs were everywhere. But, as Martin Luther got older he planned to make a vison for peace and change the world. When he did that he won the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!!!!
Now I want to tell you what's going on in school this week.It is National Lutheran Schools Week!!!!Monday was dress as a class day and we wore sweat pants and sweat shirts. That was REALLY, REALLY fun!!!! Tuesday was clash day and that was also REALLY, REALLY fun!!!! Wednesday was dress from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, or 90's day and that was REALLY ,REALLY, REALLY fun!!!!! Thursday is
dress what you want to be when you grow up day and thats gonna be REALL, REALLY fun too!!!! Last but not least Friday is spirit day and that's also gonna be REALLY, REALLY fun!!!! So whoever is reading this right now I'm not sure if you can tell but I'm having a great year so far and it's mostly because of my teacher MRS. DUBBERKE!!!!!

It sounds like you had an amazing week! I love learning about the underground railroad, too. That is one of my favorite times in history. There is actually a place over in Illinois that used to be a part of it, and you can go on tours. So many people were very brave during that time! Thanks for sharing about your week!
